Red Dress Run

10th ANNUAL

DATE: SATURDAY, JULY 4TH, 2009
TIME: *9:00 (CHECK IN early!)

LOCATION: FRONTRUNNER’S TOTEM POLE, LAKESHORE, CHICAGO.

FREE EVENTS:
  1. THE SHORT PERFORMANCE(A SHY 5K)
  2. THE LONGER PERFORMANCE (AN ARDENT 8K)
  3. THE TOTEM POLE PROMENADE (AN EXCUSE TO STRUT & PERFORM)
  4. JUDGING, CRITICIZING, SPOTTING FASHION FELONIES AND ASSISTING WITH ACCESSORIES.
AFTER EXCESSIVE PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES, EACH PERFORMANCE STARTS AT THE TOTEM POLE. BOTH THE 5K & 8K TRAVEL THE USUAL FRONT RUNNER ROUTES ALONG THE BEAUTIFUL LAKESHORE PATHS. THE TOTEM POLE PROMENADE FOLLOWS A SHORT CIRCUITOUS ROUTE AROUND THE TOTEM POLE. EACH PERFORMANCE CULMINATES WITH A SPECTACULAR PHOTO FINISH AT THE TOTEM POLE.

* Participation in either event requires that it be a creative performance in a red dress. Creative performance may include modern dance steps, wokking, zen movements, tai cheese, nelly olsen cheers or any other tasty performance art disciplines, styles or concepts. A straight run from start to finish tends to bore the judges.

FESTIVITIES: APPRECIATIVE AUDIENCE NEEDED TO ENCOURAGE ALL PERFORMERS.

All are welcome to RED DRESS RUN activities. Judges may be solicited and unduly influenced. Outstanding performances will be rewarded with bigger and better prizes!

(Come early and be a judge...if you have flair, can judge others and may possibly be bribed - then you qualify!)
